Release notes describe the enhancements and bug fixes contained in new releases and maintenance releases.

Internet Explorer 11 no longer supported

On March 11, 2019, Prophix announced it would remove support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) effective December 31, 2019.

If you are currently using IE 11, we recommend switching to Edge or another modern browser such as Google Chrome. Microsoft Edge is the best choice if a Microsoft browser must be used at your organization.

After the End of Support date, functionality in Prophix may not work in IE11, and no minor bugs or cosmetic issues will be fixed for IE11.

Why has Prophix removed support for IE11?

Microsoft released the Edge browser as a replacement for IE11 in 2015 as part of it's Windows 10 operating system. As a result, IE11 no longer receives major updates, and lacks many technical features to support modern web applications. IE11 is considered a legacy browser, with much slower JavaScript and rendering performance than modern browsers like Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.

Prophix strives to deliver products that meet our customers’ needs. The increasing gap between IE11 and all other browsers has meant that we must expend considerable effort to avoid and fix defects that only appear in IE11. It limits our technology choices and ability to deliver the reliability and functionality our customers expect.

What's new

Dashboards

  • Dashboards have been refreshed for a cleaner look.
  • Badge tiles now take into account the user's data permissions: Prophix scans member combinations to find and display the first data point that the user has access to.

  • Badge tiles now include an option to add Auto Text at the top and bottom of the tile.

  • In Chart tiles, pie charts can optionally use Auto Text to show a total value.

  • Chart tiles now offer the doughnut chart type (look under Other).

     Note:

    After updating to the Winter Release, existing dashboard charts of the type Combo Custom may change appearance. (This change can occur if the Combo Custom chart's Series properties were not specified originally.)

    In this case, open Dashboard Studio, select the chart tile, click ; in the left-side panel, re-select the chart type; in the right -side panel, open the Data drawer and select a Series type. Save.

  • Building dashboards is now even faster and more intuitive.

Document Explorer

  • The maximum file size for uploading to/downloading from Prophix is now 23 MB (was 4 MB).
  • Process files (see below).

Notifications Hub

  • When a Prophix automated process finishes running, Process Manager now sends a message to the Notifications Hub, located at the top-right corner of the Prophix screen:

  • Notifications go to all users included in a "To" list for the process (in addition to the existing option to send an email), and, in the case of a process run manually, to the user who ran it (whether included in the "To" list or not).

     Note:  For the Winter 2020 release, notifications will not appear for the DP Post process run from within Detailed Planning Manager, or for a Publish process run from within Model Manager. These notifications are planned for a future release.

Process Files

  • Process files are the data files used in the various import and export automated processes in Process Manager. You can now use Document Explorer's Process Files drawer to do the following:
    • Upload/download process files to/from Prophix
    • Access process files for use in import and export processes
    • Organize process files in folders

    • Apply security settings to the folders to restrict access

       Note:  For existing customers, Process Files download is a Prophix Opt-In feature.

  • The Create Copy command now copies cell formulas and formatting (regardless of whether mapping is on or off).

Note that the current build is always cumulative: it contains all previous patches.

March 97367 Template Studio Applying a template formula to a page member that contained a year value caused a syntax error.
March 97915 Template Studio Could not use Auto Text in a template formula.
March 98312 Template Studio In Data Entry mode the formula range symbol ($) disappeared.
March 97746 Template Studio There was an issue when using the Runtime selection option for a linked Template.
March 98830 Template Studio There was an issue with conditional formatting in the Polish version.
March 100478 Template Studio Subtracting from Auto Text Year did not produce the expected result in Excel.
March 97148 Templates The page selection for alternate hierarchies was not working correctly in Hierarchy display mode.
March 92321 Templates If the login ID contained apostrophes, problems occurred in data-entry mode.
