Force calculations
The Force Calculations option improves query performance in templates; the decision to use this feature depends on the setup and layout of a data view.
In every new data view the default setting for Force Calculations is on.
When the Force Calculations option is turned on, each time the data view is refreshed, all calculated cells are recalculated.
(A refresh occurs, for example, when you add or edit data, change the page, change the member selection, and so on.)
The Force Calculations options that appear in the Ad Hoc Analysis Edit and in Edit Layout are in synch; when you change one, the other is also changed.
When you save the data view, the setting for Force Calculations is stored in the data view definition and applies wherever the data view is used.
Example: If the Force Calculations function is turned on and if any of the data uses calculations, when the Spreading or the Report Insights functions are used with the data view, Force Calculations may be triggered.
