Define global vectors

Global vectors are created within a scenario in a detailed planning model.

Create a global vector

  1. Select Administration > Global Vectors.
  2. Select from the Scenario drop-down list.

The grid headers change to reflect the chosen scenario's time range.

  3. In the empty bottom row in the Name cell, type a name for the global vector (up to 100 characters).
  4. In the time period cells type, fill, or paste the values that you want.
  5. Optionally, add notes in the Comments cell (up to 4,000 characters).
  6. Select File > Save.

Copy global vector data

You can copy global vector data to the system clipboard, for re-use in FP&A Plus or an external application such as Excel.

  1. Select a range of global vector cells (you can select both columns and rows but they must be from the time period columns only).
  2. In the lip panel click .

Paste data to a global vector

You can paste cell data that was copied to the clipboard from a global vector or an application such as Excel.

  1. Select a range of global vector cells.

  2. In the lip panel click .

     Note:

If the target range is a multiple of the clipboard contents, the target is subdivided into equal units and mutliple copies are pasted.

    For example:

    • If you select two or more rows and the clipboard contains a single row, that row is pasted to all the target rows.
    • If you select a 4x4 range of cells and the clipboard holds a 2x2 range, four sets of those cells are pasted to the target.

Delete a global vector

  1. Select the row header or any cell in the row.
  2. In the lip panel click .
