About locking
Why am I locked out?
The last time the module was used it was closed improperly and FP&A Plus was unable to release the lock (every time you edit something, FP&A Plus locks it so that no one else can make changes at the same time).
What does "take over the lock" mean?
If you click Yes, FP&A Plus releases the old lock, and places a new one on the object or module in question, and you can go ahead and edit.
What happens if I click No?
The lock remains in place, and you have read-only access to the object or module.
How can I avoid locking myself out in future?
Good practices to follow:
- Close the module tab before you close your browser.
- Close the Detailed Planning Manager or Model Manager tab before you close the FP&A tab.
- Do not open a second instance of FP&A Plus.
Where can I encounter locks?
The following can be locked:
- Dimensions in Model Manager
- Models in Detailed Planning Manager
- Security Manager
Can I take over a lock that belongs to another user?
No. You will only see this dialog for your own locks.
